Arrive at Gonggar Airport (3500m), welcome by the local tour guide, transfer 60km (paved road, about 1 hour drive ) to the city, drive along the Yalutsangpo River and Lhasa River, enjoy the Tibetan style villages and Nyetang Buddha ,check in hotel in Lhasa (3658m) and rest for acclimatization.

 

 

Take a tour to Potala Palace.  It was the local government location, and was divided into two parts, the white palace and red one ; It was also the highest castle-style palace in the world; Visit Jolkhang Temple and Barkhor Market, the heart of the old Lhasa town, here you＊ll enjoy fascinating combination of deep religiosity and push and shove market economics. In Tibetan Buddhism Jokhang is also regarded as the center of the Universe, it is a must sightseeing in Lhasa;

 

 

Visit Drepung Monastery in the morning, which is the largest monastery in Tibet, founded in 1416 by disciple of Tsongkhapa called Jamyang Choje. Then visit Sera Monastery in the afternoon, which was founded in 1419 by Sakya Yeshe, a disciple of Tsongkhapa. The most distinguished and interesting thing here is monks＊ debating about Buddhism. Then visit Lhobulingka (the jewel park in Tibetan) which was the summer palace of Dalai Lamas.

 

 

Drive to Gyantse via Yamdroyumtso Lake, which can be seen from Kanbala Pass (4794m) . It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and an important destination for pilgrimage. Live in Gyantze.

 

 

After visiting Palkhor Monastery, drive 90km to Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. Visit to Shalu Monastery en route. Live in Shigatse .

 

 

Shigatse/Latze,visit Sakya Monastery,live in Latze guesthouse;

 

 

Latze/Sangsang/Saga. Camp or live in the guesthouse.

 

 

Saga/Pagyang/. Camp or live in the guesthouse.

 

 

Pagyang/Baga, Camp nearby the holy lake.

Drive to Darchen, start the kora, camp. After the hiking around the lake, begin the trekking around the holy mountain, Mt. Kailash. Vehicles are not permitted to drive around, so it is necessary to hire yaks and their owners for the tents, baggage and etc.  Live in the tents.

Drive from Darchen to Drada,visit the ruins of the Guge Kingdom, live in Drada guesthouse or camp;

Pagyang to Saga; Lve in the tent or in the guesthouse ;

 

 

Saga/Baicutso Lake/Old Tingri; Simple guesthouse;

 

 

Old Tingri /Base Camp/ Shegar  Visit Rongbuk Monastery. Walking from Rongbuk Monastery to the Base Camp is a challenge; meanwhile horse-cart is available. Back to Shegar;

 

 

Shegar to Shigatse;

 

 

Shigatse to Lhasa;
